    i have a blackberry curve 8330 and the select button on the trackball is not working, but i can still navigate. is there anything i can do to fix this and avoid paying 64 dollars to have blackberryrepairshop.com do it? Thanx everybody!

    First thing first, try a battery pull with the phone ON and see if that solves
    the issue. If not, it seems like a warranty issue. Hopefully your phone is still
    under warranty. If it is, call your carrier, give them your situation and they'll
    send you another phone. If no warranty I guess you'd have to take matters
    into your own hands.

    You can get a pair of trackball replacements at Amazon.com for about $10 and replace it yourself. It's pretty easy.

    However, if the switch on the motherboard is trased, the only alternative for click is to use the enter button.

    With your trackball removed, is the trackball switch (covered by a small square funny colored tape) still there? if so, get a round toothpick and use the blunt end to press on the cup - does it click???
