Wow, an outside is echoing what I have been saying forever. Plus, they're brutally honest.

Yup that is dead on though I'm a lot more harsh with their overall lack of marketing, poor quality of what does exist and total incompetence with their approach and strategy. Thanks for sharing OP.

You read something like this, and you have to think, ya know, maybe BlackBerry isn't THAT far off from relevance. Shove this platform down people's throats, give carriers incentives to sell them, and let the end user install apk files. BlackBerry is running out of do overs, but this latest beta is unbelievable. It's putting faith into me once again.

Blackberry definitely needs to step it up when it comes to marketing. Currently all the marketing is done by a crackberry forum member that goes by the name 'z30man'.

    Here you go

Seeking Alpha: How marketing has failed BlackBerry - PG 2
However, a few BlackBerry fans in the UK did nothing to bolster the juggernaut of US consumers' rejection. It doesn't help when your product booth is in the back of the store cobwebs and all. There was clearly a lack of education on the new BB10 features again due to the failure of the marketing department. I learned painfully post release to take some darn money off the table especially with volatile story stocks such as BBRY. I will also ask Mr. Collins in the future to take additional pictures from around the UK and not just one store. What was puzzling that all of Mr. Collins's supply chain checks pointed towards a high demand for the Q10. It will be interesting to see how sales of the Q10 fare in the next quarterly release.
Value still exists in BBRY's total offerings to its customers such as BBM, MDM, and security. The BlackBerry smartphone is currently a loss leader in order to have a total package for its enterprise customers. What is interesting is that there are many successful businesses that have just one product offering whereas BBRY has a few. When you compare BBRY's current market cap of around $3B to that of Twitter's (TWTR) $24B, it doesn't seem like a common sense valuation. It seems more like a popularity contest in the market. Personally when I see valuations such as this, it reminds me of Benjamin Graham's famous quote "In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run it is a weighing machine." It is truly amazing how public perception can make or break a company regardless of how good their product is. There have been many examples of this throughout history but the greatest relevant example of marketing done right is Apple's (AAPL) and I have the utmost respect for its marketing success.
There still may be some saving grace for BBRY, and perhaps it is because more than half of the companies trading on the German DAX are using BES 10 already. This is an example of how BBRY's products still offer value, and how they are an important offering to many stakeholders worldwide. This is especially true if stakeholders are security conscious, and value an image of professionalism and productivity.
In conclusion, a potential investment opportunity may still exist for BBRY, especially at its current valuation. There appears to be limited downside. Furthermore BBRY has shored up some cash burning concerns after receiving the recent $1 billion injection. Some investors are worried about dilution as a result, but consider how many shares BBRY has repurchased in the past. Additional considerations would be the new CEO John Chen with his history of turnaround success in a similar situation. There is also a true wild card with BBM, and decent existing market share with BES 10. As a result, I'm still long, and I still see the value here. If an investor has not considered going long BBRY yet, there remains a potential opportunity with less downside than many tend to believe.
Additional disclosure: Long BBRY Call Options

No worries, it was a very good read and reflects the sentiment of many posters as well as myself on the issue. Some traders are putting out a "buy" now on stock, with one Hedge fund Blue Ridge Capital buying shares at end of Oct.perhaps things are slowly turning around.

Blue Ridge Capital bought 500,000 shares of Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) worth $96,685,000, which accounts 1.16% of its portfolio. Over the past 52-week range, investors were bullish on the shares of the electric car manufacturer, its stock price climbed from $30.50 to its highest level of $194.50 per share. However, the stock started to decline significantly after a third Model S vehicle caught fire. The shares of Tesla are trading around $137.40 per share as of this writing.

The hedge fund also acquired 1,440,000 shares of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (NYSE:CLF) worth $29,520,000 and 2,345,000 shares of BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) worth $18,631,000.

Cliffs Natural Resources recently declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share for its common stock and $17.50 per share for its series A preferred stock.

On the other hand, BlackBerry hired John Chen to serve as executive chairman and CEO. The company also received a $1 billion investment from shareholders to continue its business as a public company.

2.BlackBerrytoday announced that NCG Banco, one of Spain?s leading banks, has chosen BES 10 as the company?s singleEnterprise Mobility Management (EMM)solution.

?The capabilities and ease-of-use of BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 will allow us to effectively apply our new mobile strategy, which includes more personalized management, improved efficiency and reduction of costs. The BlackBerry solution provides the necessary flexibility that an IT department needs to support a mobile environment,? said Jose Manuel Valino Blanco, Assistant General Manager of Systems at NCG Banco.

An enterprise mobility market study by J. Gold Associates showed thatBlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 remains the most strategic mobile device management solution for enterprises today. BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 offers enterprise mobility management, mobile application management and secure mobile connectivity, and delivers a cost-efficient and reliable solution for business customers and government agencies.

NCG Banco now plans to carry out additional projects with BlackBerry in the short and medium term.
    3.
In a seemingly roller-coaster ride, security has taken a backseat in recent years. However, due to the NSA revelations, security is beginning to once again be an integral requirement for businesses and consumers.

?As for alternatives to BlackBerry, there aren?t any,? said Sandra Smith, an enterprise IT manager, in an email toComputerworld.?Due to the Snowden revelations, we now realize that if you are running Microsoft/Google/Apple, you need to protect yourself from your OS and not use your OS to protect you.?

IT admins know that the BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) is still the leader in mobile device management with optimal security. The BES software runs through the BlackBerry Network Operations Center (NOC) and through 500 global carriers but is separated from popular OS ecosystems like the ones working with Android, iOS and other mobile operating systems.

?BES is smart because it?s not part of that ecosystem? of other operating systems, Smith said. ?Sometimes exclusion is a plus. BlackBerry hardware and its OS will survive because of BES. We are all sitting here quietly paying as BES subscribers because we know and see the value.?

Countless corporations and governments are choosing BES 10. Recently, KPGM and the National Police of Colombia have switched to BES. BlackBerry 10 devices have even been approved for NATO and U.S. Defense use.

?With BlackBerry 10 we have found the best solution in terms of usability, security, connectivity and price,? said KPMG Milan IT Lead Partner Davide Grassano in a statement. KPMG users will have access to shared files and internal resources while BlackBerry software also works to prevent the accidental leakage of business documents and attachments, he added.

If security and data loss mitigation are paramount concerns, you can most certainly not go wrong with BlackBerry 10 and the BlackBerry Enterprise Service.

BlackBerry 10 is the first generation operating system to have attainedFIPS 140-2 validation certificate.?There is no question that BlackBerry has a strong technical security method and history ? probably the best in mobile,? said Bob Egan, an analyst at Sepharim Group

4-BlackBerry today announced that BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 and BlackBerry 10 smartphones have been the first to be approved by NATO for classified communications up to the level of ?Restricted?. This allows agencies in NATO countries to use BlackBerry 10 smartphones in office or field. Here?s what Scott Totzke,Senior Vice President of Security at BlackBerry, said:

?We built the new BlackBerry 10 platform from the ground up with the highest security needs of our government and enterprise customers in mind. The fact that BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 and BlackBerry 10 smartphones have been approved for classified communications just months after debut, is testament to the thoroughness of its design and our commitment to our defense and government customers.?

This is a very important achievement for BES 10, since it grants assurance to organizations with security concerns, including government agencies and other organizations dealing with sensitive information, that the data going through their BlackBerry 10 smartphones is safe.BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 integrates end-to-end security, and uses AES 256-bit, the highest encryption level of the standard, for data at rest and data in transit.

5.BlackBerry announced that Empresas POLAR S.A. (?POLAR?), a leading company in the food and beverage industry in Venezuela, is upgrading to the latest version of BlackBerry?sEnterprise Mobility Management solution (EMM), BlackBerry(R) Enterprise Service 10 (version10.1), to improve mobile productivity across the business.

For Empresas POLAR, BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 streamlines communications and collaboration by enabling employees to be more productive on the go and enabling business decision makers to access information quickly. In addition, the company can deploy key applications to help increase productivity while maintaining the high level of security they need.

?The fact that we can efficiently and securely manage our all mobile devices with such a robust solution as BlackBerry Enterprise Service, which gives us the flexibility to manage multiple smartphone platforms, has been one of the main reasons why we chose to adopt the BlackBerry solution,? explained Yabrudy.

BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 represents a consolidation of BlackBerry?sEnterprise Mobility Management (EMM)product portfolio, which includes Mobile Device Management (MDM), security, infrastructure and app management, all conveniently accessible from a single console. Following a simple installation process, customers can upgrade from BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5 to the newEMMsolution with no firewall changes

All of these developments occurred in September / Oct of this year. Judge for your selves the viability of BlackBerry.
