    Hi all,

I recently purchased a secondhand BlackBerry Bold 9700. Everything has been going great and I love this unit but lately I have been getting a lot of messenger requests from people I don't know.

As I understand it, the PIN of a BlackBerry is unique to each unit. I am guessing that because this Bold is secondhand, contacts of the previous owner are trying to add me to their list. Is there any way around this? Can I request a new PIN?

Unfortunately no, you are correct, the pin is tied to the device, depending on how many places/forums the previous user posted that pin too, you will keep getting them. you'll just have to keep ignoring them
