I know there's a lot of CB users in the path of the storm. Are you doing anything special to prepare? I have my BB and PB batteries fully charged as well as my backup 4000ma. Have to be able to communicate.

Well....got the 9900 with four spare batteries all charged and plugged in.
Got the 9810 with spare battery all charged and plugged in.
Got work 9650 with two spare batteries all charged and plugged in.
iPhone all charged up and plugged in. Ditto for the Skyrocket and a spare battery.
iPad fully charged and plugged in and I got one months' internet added in case my wifi goes down.

Got extra critter and human food.

Got an LED lantern, a huge flashlight, and a small LED lantern. Got a bizillion D batteries.
Got a kerosene heater and kerosene.
Got enough water for me and the crowd for seven days.

Got extra blankets and several down coats.

    Car gas tank is full.

    Got cash.

I'm ready....as long as something doesn't drop onto my roof or come through my window, but I don't think it would have been proper form to cut the neighbour's trees. My trees are a fair distance from the house.

About the same as I will do when the zombie apocalypse hits...control what I can control and leave God to handle the rest.

I'm so glad your all preparing for my arrival, but I won't be visiting USA this year, too skint. Still keep the Beer on Ice, being from Scotland I'm sure I can drink it all without even looking too drunk.

When a storm like this comes about most carriers have generators brought to their sites to power the equipment.

I had tons of beer the last long power outage and I had liquor too. You have to refrigerate beer.
Now I'm waiting for some obstinate Irish guy to tell me beer is best served at room temperature Then again, they have REAL beer over there...
Word of advice; a generator is the way to go, ever since the ice storm of '98 in Quebec, I've had one, just plain all around useful, relatively cheap insurance. During that ice storm we were out of power for over a month. I harbored loads of friends because of that generator. I remember being hung over for about a week after that

KFC's gross. I'd rather make my own chickie. Or get Buffalo Wild Wings.

Stay safe those in the path of Sandy! A few months ago we were supposed to have a widespread tornado outbreak one day. KC was supposed to be hit bad. My survival kit included battery operated tea lights, flashlights, cat food, BWW takeout, and a liter of wine. And of course, we didn't get as much as a sprinkle that night. I'm glad for y'alls sake that hurricanes are easier to track than tornadoes!!

Darn! I thought I was prepared, but you're totally over the top!

I've got my 9810 with extended battery sitting in the PC charging cord, 2 OEM batteries alternating on the charging stand, emergency radio/light fully charged, lots of food and liquids, both tablets and my kindle all charged. several sets of comfortable sweats and several blankets.

I like your style. I was going to just go with the beer, but Cheetos are a good way to level out the B.A.C. in case of emergency.
