New member here. I have a question about BlackBerrys/wireless carriers. I currently have the 8830 World Edition through Verizon and like many people I'm having trouble with the ringer being so low. I was wondering if this was just a problem with the 8830 World Edition, just a Verizon problem, or a problem with all BlackBerrys in general? My contract with Verizon is almost up and if it is a problem with just Verizon or the 8830 World Edition, I'm seriously considering switching carriers. Thanks to anyone who has an answer.

I don't believe it's carrier related. It's a device issue.

It is a known issue with the 8830, many users report a similar low volume issue.
It is not a Verizon overall issue, just that model ON Verizon.

Until then you could try some louder ringtones...?

Thanks for the information. So if I switch carriers and get the BlackBerry Curve will I still have this problem?

Nope, I don't recall seeing many, if any, complaints about volume on the 83xx.

Still, there are so many work arounds for the issue you are having.. louder tunes, etc., and many threads here about it.
