i can say this im from a Caribbean country that blackberries are very popular in, the reasons why they are popular are because of BBM, and they were the only phones that offered an unlimited data package, well this month our network provided finally released 3g/4g and data packages and i foresee alot of people switching to android and iphones now, im sure any Jamaicans who see this post will back me fully in what i say, almost every other day i get a bbm broadcast from a contact advising me that hes changing phones and that we can still communicate on whatsapp, this push back of the release date is gonna cause alot of converts. and trust me jamaica is one of the biggest blackberry users in the world take a trip here and youll mostly see blackberries
This is an interesting perspective....
what are they going to sell in the meantime? BB7 phones are almost obsolete and worthy of a write-off.
BB London/Colt will have obsolete specs too when BB10 comes out. A knife to a gun fight with quad cores everywhere
I am not sure quad core will matter in a phone for years to come other than a selling point to spec nerds what has anyone figured out to do with a quad core phone that single core processors cannot currently do?
Also I fail to see how BB7 is obsolete when there are 77+ million BB users worldwide and BB7 transfers older apps and everything else to it? I would agree with you in it not being a success, but obsolete? Nope.
But.. but...but... I thought we were waiting for those chips... that was the only reason BB10 was going to be released in Q4.
Those who fell for that should be feeling very foolish right now.
Those of us who didn't believe it - were obviously right.
It's not a media conspiracy against RIM that's the root of RIMs problems. The problem IS RIM.
It's over. Beyond ridiculous.
RIP RIM.
