Hello. My old blackberry took on the porcelain god and well lost. I went out and got a the 9780 today but i cant connect to DM without old BB which is pooched completely.

Did you make any backups before the phone was dropped in water? If not then you're SOL unless you can get you're old phone working. Also you don't need your old BB for DM to work unless you're trying to do what I stated above.

I got a back up from a few days ago thankfully. I now have a problem where its just says connecting. it shows 9780 but grayed out. and connecting in bottom corner

Perhaps you need to update DM.

i just uninstalled and re installed it still say connecting. the media card shows up in computer as well as connection sound. tried battery pull. and restarting my comp

You should check to see if you need to update DM like AD said and if not go ahead and try restarting the computer.

Nope none has worked. I've tried restarting PC and batt pull BB countless times uninstalled and re installed DM. i don't get it. Its recognizing The BB its just DM that wont connect to it.

What version of DM do you have? I meant actually updating and not just uninstall/reinstall.

It says i have the latest version 6.1.0.35.
