I have some apps on my blackberry that I want to keep.

If I restore my BB to factory defaults, do I lose all the apps that I have downloaded?

I also have my work schedule for the rest of 2009 in there as well that I don't want to have to put back in.

How can I protect these and restore the factory settings?

Make sure you use your blackberry desktop manager and do a back up. This will save your data to your desktop.

Yes easto if you are doing a wipe on the device it will restore it to out of the box condition. Make sure you do that backup...

I did some screwing around trying to get youtube to work. Now none of my Emails are coming through and I think I deleted too many things.

Are there any downsides to doing a factory reset?

My work schedule and apps should be safe as long as I follow that thread, correct

As long as you did a back up, you should be fine.

What if I just use the Backup and Restore option? If I backup the device data, does that include my work schedule? I don't care as much about the apps as I do care about the schedule.

All the apps I have are free anyways so I can always d/l them again.

Your work schedule is on your calendar, right? If so, you'll be fine.

Great thread here. I was considering doing this on my 8900 but was unsure of how it worked and what I might lose/not lose.

    Thanks CB Geniuses!
