So I hear about a lot of people taking their phone apart to replace the trackball. I was just wondering if its a hard project???

Don't do it if you want to keep your factory warranty intact.

I have an 8900 and I did it at work. Followed directions and it took me all of 5 minutes. And that's with me going slow so as not to mess it up. Go slow and you'll be fine.

Well my trackball got a little water damage so it sticks every now n then. That's not covered under the manufactured warranty.

That's not what I meant. I was trying to say, if you mess up your BB changing the TB, then you won't have your warranty to fall back on for a replacement.

How would you mess it up?

Changing the trackball involved removing the ring around the ball (assuming you haven an older model). If you break that ring or break any of the internal parts behind the trackball, your warranty is gone.
