Removing Shop Media From Your Blackberry - How To
- HOW TO REMOVE SHOP MEDIA
From your device you will:
Options > Advanced Options > Service Book
Here you will find a list of the service books RIM sends to
your device WHICH ARE ONLY SENT UPON REQUEST.
This way this method doesn't need to be done often,
unless you request your service books
This will not effect any other applications on your device.
It will simply, and only, remove the shopping apps,
thus help somewhate with memory but more importantly
just getting those dang things of your phone!
Depending upon your carrier the service books will look
something similiar to this:
AT&T:
Media Mall - Streaming Music [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - MusicID [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Theme [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Applications [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Multimedia [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Graphics [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Games [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Shop Tones [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Music [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Community [BrowserConfig]
Media Mall - Tunes [BrowserConfig]
From here, simply hit the menu button then delete.
In further research, I contacted my carrier (AT&T) and RIM technical
support and product management and all 4 departments have
confirmed that you, nor they, CAN NOT configure/edit your service
book database because they are required applications to be sent to
your device. So apparently, if you need to request the service books,
you just simply go through this process to remove them again.
Note: You can also just hide the icons if that is your preference.
These are not applications, they are simply "links" or commands
to your device that prompts it to perform certain actions through
the network.
For technical purposes, they take up very little memory and they
use in total about 1RAM per action.
Please post your Shop files name in the Service Books for your specific
carrier other than AT&T if they are different than those posted aboveLast edited by iamjoel5; 07-17-08 at 01:53 PM.

folder and just hide them camp though. I really only use one theme, so
I never worry about them repopulating.07-17-08 01:52 PMLike 0 - Crucial_XtremeRetired ModeratorIf you pull your battery they will reappear. Also, if you install a theme thru DM or run the Apploader they will return. It sucks I know. But they do return.07-17-08 05:58 PMLike 0
