I have an unlocked ATT BlackBerry 9360 and I'm using it on T-Mobile. I used BBSAK to wipe it and installed 7.1.0.912 (I believe). I want to install 1098 on it. Is it possible? and if so, where can I download it? I want to instal 1098 on my phone because the app ChatOn doesn't open and a message pops up that says something like, Uncaught something. Java. Illegal..., and a CB user told me that ChatOn works on 1098.

I would really appreciate responses. Please reply.

I downloaded and installed .1098 (UK/O2) and when I tried to put it on the phone, the farthest it got is to the Application Selection (BBSAK) and this is what it read: The B;ackBerry Desktop Software does not have BlackBerry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service privider or system administrator.

Don't need to use bbsak, you can use the official application loader app (loader.exe)

No. I have no idea what that is. Yesterday, I wiped my phone and installed T-Mobile 7.1.0.912 and everything went successful (using BBSAK). So, do I need to delete Vendor.xml? And will a UK/O2 OS work on my unlocked AT&T phone currently being used on T-Mobile? Does it matter if the BB Desktop Manager is the US or UK version?

Long story short, I want to have ChatOn working on my phone. A member here told me ChatOn works on 1098, which is why I want to have it on my phone. How can I get it on?

Back when I had a 9900, any OS from any carrier could be installed on my 9900 using Desktop Manager so long as I deleted the vendor.xml files.

Thanks for the amazing replies. Virtually no one has replied. People here aren't as nice as I thought.

Quick question, does it matter if the BB Desktop Manager is the US or UK version?

Don't think so. Just find the .exe file for 7.1.0.1098 for 9900, download, install, delete the vendor files and start BlackBerry Desktop Manager with your phone plugged in. Worked for me in the past.

    I have a 9360.

I am an upset camper. I deleted one of the Vendor files but the second one isn't found on my computer. When I search for, "C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML," nothing pops up and only data is found up until, "C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming," there is no "Research in Motion."

    Sorry, download it for 9360.

So if you've installed the OS and deleted the vendor.xml file, does BlackBerry Desktop Software tell you about an update being available?

My phone is currently in 507 state. I wiped it with BBSAK and installed the UK/O2 .1098 and now I'm trying to have BBSAK recognize it.

Have you tried thursak suggestion...? Open BlackBerry desktop manager and plug the phone into the computer? ?
There isn't always 2 vendor files, sometimes there is only one
