Is it a BlackBerry battery or aftermarket?

I don't think it's the battery because if I plug it in with no battery in it the battery with a Red Cross still comes on Red Cross on my sons 9300-imageuploadedbycb-forums1389265178.302494.jpg

Red x over anything means no. So in this case no battery. If you have a way, test your batteries on another device. They could be bad. If not, then it has to be the connector pins in the phone itself.

If batteries are working in another device then my first step would be to clean the connectors in the phone with rubbing alcohol.

I think its your battery, have you tested it on another device?
I would just get a new one from best buy for about 9-20$ in canada and lower in the us. Not sure about uk or anywhere else

The batteries work fine in his friends phone, the battery icon with the Red Cross in it comes on screen with out a battery in, and with a battery in,i would bin it but it has his photos and things on and I can't sync it because my computer is not recognizing it,but it does show that a USB device is plugged in because it tries to find drivers for it, the phone was working fine one night and ran out of charge, since then it's had this problem
