Thanks for the info HouseApe. I actually have the PDF as an attachment so users don't have to wait 45 seconds to download it. I'll also update the guide with your information that I didn't already have.
Glad you at least got that partial success baniels. Better than nothing.
OK.. New OS update.. Re-did all the steps. Still No love for the Curve.. Yes BB Maps work but that already worked.. I would of loved to have Amaze GPS working on it..
Ok, I got it to detect the phone. It took some finagling and adding ports to QPST.
Updated the settings. rebooted the phone one more time. google maps got my location within 20 meters, and bbmaps is tracking 9 satalites in about 30 seconds.
this is great! GPS has NEVER worked on my new curve alltel replaced my old one with. Thank you very much.
i have everything working except i may be a little slow with using winhex as i have NO CLUE how to figure out how to retrieve my 6 digit pin from that thing.. :/ if anyone could help me with how that works, i'd really really appreciate it.
I used hex workshop to find mine (didn't know I didn't need to) and I found it manually by just searching for each number 0-9 until I found a 6 digit clump with just numbers.
Thankfully, I know a quicker way now. With WinHex, go to Specialist and select Gather Text. You want to setup it to recognize text by 6 successive numbers only.
If you get multiple hits, try each 6digit number in QPST Service Programming until you find the right one.
I guess I could see the firewall preventing something. Could also see a setting for another program may help. Sometimes things click without rhyme or reason.
So is everything working for you? All 3rd party apps, navigator, bbmaps, etc?
sorry for the late reply but yes everything is working now.
I gotta get used to checking up on replies in these forums.
Tyler, I had some issues with functions when I fixed my GPS. Nothing in regards to SMS, could be a minor outage. You can try updating your roaming, programming the phone (I used *22899, don't know your equivalent). You can also try a battery pull and resending your service books.
Glad to hear it nlerx. Pleasure doing business with you. Next please! =P
People who are having a problem with UNICDMA detecting their phone. Try this. After you change your port numbers in windows device manager restart your computer. Then start from the beginning. Open Blackberry desktop manager, plug in your phone, open UniCDMA. In other words you need to reboot your computer after you change the port number before the change becomes active.
Good tip Jocko. I, myself, didn't have that issue. I just unplugged the blackberry, closed the programs I had up for the fix, and started over. Some other users may have more difficulty than I and may not think of a restart.
Heh, the name was a little something from way back when. It was appropriate for that time. I kept it. Nice little keepsake. Better than the mundane drivel of xyz123 that keeps popping up.
Glad you got it working. I also started a List of Programs. Compared to the other Popular Blackberry Programs list, mine is pure gold ^_^. Be sure to check it out, maybe submit some information.
