I'm in the market to buy a used 9810 or 9860 to carry me to the release of BB10. After looking around, all I see are unlocked phones. If I'm not mistaking, I know that unlocked phones on att's network doesn't have access to 4G. I was wondering if it is possible to re lock a unlocked phone so I can get access to att's 4g?

That is not accurate, unlocked phones that do not support AT&T's 4G network will not get 4G. (their flavor of 4G in this case being HSPA+) I have always had my AT&T devices unlocked, and my device gets their 4G just fine.

You want to make sure it's the right frequencies, in the case of those two phones you will get the H+. Unlocking it would allow someone to use it on another carrier such as Tmo.
