Ok so I have had my "side convenience key" set to Memory Cleaner to keep my phone from freezing now we have Vlingo free and it takes up the "side convenience key"... A way around this is use "Universal Search" to search for "Memory Cleaner" then hit the Menu Key and select "Save search" Rename it to Memory Cleaner and click "Add". Now you have it as an Icon on your Home Screen.
Now tap that Icon and clear your memory every few hrs
You can set the memory cleaner to do its thing while the device is idle, no need to do it manually.
+1 : great ease of use.
And also to display a icon (by default, in the Applications folder, but you can move it).
While at it ... this was posted on CB a few days ago :
I never have rebooted nor used a memory cleaner since last month :/

Its only a button and takes only a second compared to the time needed to write the post.
Memory Cleaner doesn't stop your device from freezing. It only removes a minute amount of sensitive data from a handful of caches and databases. If anything, excessive use of Memory Cleaner will actually cause your device to freeze.
There is only one way to recover memory from a lagging Java based UI, and that's the battery pull... nuff said.
Memory Cleaner is a security feature. It cleans sensitive data (like passwords you might have copied and pasted from Password Keeper) from your BlackBerry's memory.
Guess I'm one of the lucky ones, my 9810 has never ever froze since I've got it in January, running Bell 7.1.0.267 bundle 921, no memory cleaning, no battery pulls
QuickPull like every app of it's kind does nothing more than force the phone to run the
Garbage Collector, something it will do without the app (s) OR the users intervention.
Memory Cleaner is useless unless the user has Content Protection enabled, which the
majority of users do not and don't really need to.
