Question on a potential eBay purchase
- I have a question...I'm currently watching a Pearl for sale on eBay. I have asked the seller if they could provide me with the ESN number so that i could get it checked out by Verizon to see if it's on the lost/stolen list or not. Obviously if they don't provide me with the number I will not buy, but the main question is that if I do end up buying the phone and it is not in working order, (and I'm aware that I should contact PayPal if it's not), what is the percentage that i would just be able to reload the OS and come out ahead? In the pics that are posted there is one of the phone at the start up screen that says Verizon and thats it. If a BB is "nuked" will it still show that screen? I'm fairly new to the BB scene and don't quite know what to look for in terms of a bad phone. Thanks - Brett08-31-08 05:59 PMLike 0
- Adam ZeisCB OGCheck the return policy. If its nuked you should be able to return it if its not listed as such. Just cover your bases before buying and make sure the ESN is clear and you have a return policy and I wouldn't worry too much.

The seller answered all our questions prior and then when we had problems answered everything till we figured out it was an alltel problem not a phone problem which we first thought. But just ask him if it works properly and things. Most sellers we have dealt with have been honest.

agreeing to take the device in whatever condition it's in. Almost no
recourse there.
Just out of curiosity, how much is this thing selling for?08-31-08 06:59 PMLike 0 - 08-31-08 07:04 PMLike 0
- Last time checked the bid was up to 75 bucks with a BIN of 230. I recently got a Pearl and the G/F fell in love with mine and now wants a Pink Pearl. Her phone is about to bite the big one and her contract isn't up until mid next year and 400 is a little steep for an outright price. I've checked craigslist but not alot of Pink ones in my area. Any sites you know of have good deals on a Pink Pearl?08-31-08 07:58 PMLike 0
- I agree with all points. Do your homework on the seller. Before purchasing, contact the seller to get answers to your questions. Also, review the sellers rep. If you see a lot of negative business transactions - look somewhere else. I purchased my 1st Curve on ebay- with no issues.08-31-08 10:43 PMLike 0
