Definitely worse off now. A year ago they at least had hype.

A year ago, BB had the potential for market success, with the upcoming release of BB10 and new devices.

Today, that potential is largely unrealized (as far as the market is concerned), and the company now has debt for the first time in years, is less than half the size it was before (reduced ability to create and support products), has almost completely lost carrier support (critical for device sales), and its very existence in the short term is still very questionable.

There's no question: BB was FAR better off a year ago than it is today.
