    If im right qnx is a different os right?

    Does that mean bb9900 is the last blackberry os? Meaning they will discontinue with it. and work on their new qnx?

    I am sure they will continue to improve os7 which is on the 9900 over the coarse of the year but yes QNX will be a fresh start for the new devices coming out next year

    RIM still released OS updates for the Tour in 2011, which was released in 2009, with OS5 updates even with OS6 being the "new" OS.

    RIM will support OS7 devices for at least 2 years, though I suspect 3 years, before you'll see support vanish for QNX based devices.

    All depends on the OS life cycle. Each company is different. Just look at windows, then Linux.
