My battery ran dead on Saturday night, and since then i have been trying to charge my phone using my computer adapter, however it doesnt seem to be charging although the red light is on which normally means its charging.
If your trying to charge it in this mannor becasue you do not have the wall charge for some reason then you could try putting the device in standby while it is charging. Other than that use the wall charger if you can.

Are you plugging in you cable into the front or back of your computer?
Some computers, the front USB plugs have a lower power rating than the rear ports. It's possible that if it is plugged into the front, it may take longer to charge, or might not have enough power to run and charge the BB at the same time.
One other note. I have noticed on many phones even if they are hooked to a charger will try to use the battery during boot up. If it is too low it won't boot. Give it some time to build a charge.
