Problem with bluetooth

I paired my 8330 with my first gen chocolate and they paired fine. When they connected, I tried to transfer a contact from my chocolate to my curve, and it came back on my chocolate saying that my curve was in the wrong mode. I checked the settings and didn't see anything that was off or not allowed. I also tried to transfer from my curve to my chocolate, and it froze my curve. I had to do a battery pull. Any help is greatly appreciated.
