So I just received my new passport and want to play around with it however I haven't purchased my sim card yet and was looking for advice.

Should I wait to get the new sim before using? Or am I able to play around now and then reset it prior to actual setup?

You can play with it on wifi and add the sim later. No issues there

Yup, just set it up as you would normally,.. then you can just pop in the sim card (turn off the handset before, preferably), and there should be no need to reset anything.

Awesome. Thank you. Next question - if I want to bypass setting up certain things for now is there a way like in previous builds to reset the entire phone as new? So I can do a proper setup step by step once I get the sim?

Sorry, just may be a few days before I can get the sim.

There's nothing really to bypass other than maybe the visual voice-mail password.

When you boot up the phone for the first time it will ask if you have a SIM because it needs a network connection to sign on to your BBID. However you can skip that and it then let's you sign on to your wifi network. Your BBM will not get transferred until you open BBM for the first time and hit the "transfer BBM" button.

All posters are correct above. To answer your question, yes you can reset the device to factory settings and wipe information if you choose at any time. However as stated above, not required.
