I'm wondering about the initial storage requirements for the major mobile platforms.

I don't own any of these devices, so I've got no way to do quick check.

How much space does the OS take up on the Z10? What about iOS 6.1, Jelly Bean and WinPho 8?

That, I don't know. Not a lot of bloatware came preinstalled, most were links to download the actual app.

I'm just looking at Windows 8 on the surface pro weighing in at around 40GB and wondering where the other true mobile platforms weigh in.

Seems like a lot of baggage to be dragging around.

iPad had a little over 14gb free after a clean ios6.1 install.
Jelly bean is a tough one, but it's somewhere between 1-2gb depending on what's included in the rom.
Windows RT is about 16GB, but I believe it comes with Office and some other bloatware

It comes pre installed with many apps, social networks, video and photo editing, story maker, maps etc etc.
