My guess its programmed into the board and cannot be changed. Has it had the midplate changed?
Chris
No its brand new I just bought it from the store.
Take it back and exchange it.
Unfortunately where I am now, that doesn't work so easily... will BIS work if the numbers are different? Or can I update the software number?
There is something wonky with your phone, the PIN on the sticker and the one in the firmware should be the same. That's why Motorcycle Mama told you to exchange the phone.
well, exchanging won't happen... in this **** country called Serbia, once you buy you can't do **** -- so I just lose $600 bucks, great :)
Does the PIN in status register with RIM? I mean if it works I wouldn't worry too much about it other than if you paid for a new phone but actually got a refurb. As mentioned above, replacing the mid plate changes the numbers. I did that on a Storm I sold awhile back, so I know all about the non matching PIN numbers.

Why are you using profanity and yelling at us?
We are just trying to assist you.
Huh? MT:S won't give you an exchange on a phone you JUST bought from them. Eventhough there is something wrong with it??

Well that comment is not appropriate either, cherryjuice. :(
My advice: if it works as it should: WHO CARES
I agree. No need to get too upset.
If you're not sure about it, take it back and get another one...

Or sell it. Some ppl don't mind. It doesn't affect the working of the phone.

Could have just been a sticker misprint. *shrugs* Does the phone work as far as registering with RIM/internet services/etc? If you bought it at the store and they setup w/o a problem, you should be good to go.
