    i set up my BIS account using my Pearl PIN and IMEI then i tried to change the PIN and IMEI to my bold and i got the this error message "cannot create acct: Your blackberry internet service account is suspended or deactivated. Please contact rogers at 1-866-931-DATA"

    That is progress, you now have access to your BIS account.

    Do you have any email accounts configured? In particular, were you able to create a [email protected] account?

    If all is well, you should have received confirmation emails at each account.

    If so, your BIS is configured correctly for the Pearl and it should accept an alternate PIN number for device exchages.

    I would return the handset to the seller or ask them to release the PIN.

    I've had the Same problem, but with AT&T. I called Rim and they said it was a stolen phone, that wasn't even listed as being shipped to any retailers.
