$200 for z10 and $360 for q10 on amazon. I know it costs more to produce the q10 because of the physical keyboard but is it really that much more that it results in the phone being so expensive. And I know it was released after the z10 but aside from the battery they havent really improved anything from the z10 and im not saying they intended to improve anything. Which is why I don't fully understand why they have lowered the prices for z10 so much and barely done so for the q10.

Maybe the Q10 is produced in lower numbers, so the price cannot be as low as the z10's.

To add to the opinions stated above, I think it's because BlackBerry has the only good next-generation keyboard phone. No other brand can compete when it comes to keyboards, so they are in a position to charge a higher price for it. And I think qwerty fans are willing to pay extra for efficient keyboards with a great typing experience like BlackBerry's. Personally, speaking as a qwerty fan, I am willing to pay a premium for a keyboard. While on the other hand, there are lots of competing slab phones/brick phones out there, so BlackBerry has to price its Z10 somewhat lower than the Q10.

BlackBerry knows people that hate touchscreens will pay extra for physical keyboard. This physical keyboard segment is very sticky, which is why the Q10 launch was done after the Z10

Except for the smaller screen real estate on the Q10, Q10 is a much better built phone than the Z10. Therefore it deserves to be priced more.

Q10 in contrast to z10 is built from premium materials and have got the looks of a professional business phone.

Also,q10 don't have a competition in the market. No other qwerty phones out there which can out perform q10.If BlackBerry managed a 3.5 inch screen real estate this would have been a killer

There are many factors that influence the price of a product. The Z10s have come down in price largely due to large amounts of unsold inventory. I've had a Q10 for nine months and while I like the device I would not recommend it due to the poor build quality of the keyboard. I'm waiting for my carrier to send me a third device, as the keyboards on the previous two have malfunctioned (double typing issue).

It's all due to Supply and Demand. People are buying up the Q10's at their current price. Blackberry made to many Z10 and not enough people bought them so they're now selling off inventory they already marked as a loss. I would really like to see the actual sale numbers for each individual blackberry 10 model.

Really just a fire sale on the Z10. The models are sitting in inventory. I expect that no more Z10's will be made. The Q10 is still a viable device. Once the Z10's are gone I would love to see a Z30 mini or a Z10S model.

This was one of the reasons that I held off giving my Z10 up. But I did buy a Q10 off EBay since the price has decreased tremendously. Still keeping my Z10 just in case. I have had zero problems with my Z10 and very happy with the build, keyboard and screen quality.

I think I had double typing in my 9900 but it was very rare and never bothered me but it would if it was as often as some q10 users are claiming. And I don't care what others think or if its out of date looking I think its one if the best looking phones.

I think the prices of both phones should be low to be honest, but at launch, on contract, there should have been NO REASON for the Q10 to be $50 more than the Z10. I know it has a physical keyboard, but that's just flat out way too expensive

Stuttering keys aren't cheap! Never going back to PKB and electro mechanical connections that wear over time. But yes it is more expensive to produce a PKB device and the smaller 1:1 screen doesn't save that much compared to a larger all touch screen.

Quite simply, the Z10 is a great value at today's prices. My Z10 works great. No issues, although the battery life is not the greatest. As others on here have said, they made too many of them and they have to compete with the swarm of touch screen Android and IPhones.

As an alternative to the Q10, there is the cheaper Q5, which can be had for $150 here in Canada. I bought one 5 months after my Z10. The Q5 has great battery life and I use the FM radio regularly. The keyboard is noisier and the materials are cheaper than the Q10, but I am not aware of any double typing complaints on the Q5. I do not really notice any lag in the slower processor of the Q5.

Overall, however, I do prefer the larger screen and fantastic touch keypad of the Z10 than that of the Q5, and presumably that of the Q10.

The battery is slightly larger which wouldn't be a real factor. The processor and specs are all the same.

Built better yes There was a thread about the keyboard that said they came from 2 different suppliers, if a carrier received a batch of Q10s they would have the same defect. (?)

If the keyboard replacement is similar to the BB9900, the keyboard R&R is cheap and only takes 10 minutes The only hard part is connecting the ribbon to the mother board You need good eyes or a magnifing glass. Parts are inexpensive.

Better battery, miracast, better bluetooth, fm radio capabilities, louder speaker (in my opinion) , and a more premium feel.

    I've had the Z10, Z30 and the Q10. I think the Q is my fav. :-)
