I have a blackberry 8703e from telus. I have all the accesorries, original box, paperwork and everything. Its not hooked up to any number, can I check if its stolen or not, If I can how?

It more than likely wasn't stolen if the person who sold it to you had everything that originally came with it, but call the carrier and ask if anyone has reported one stolen if you want to make sure.

If it came with the box and paperwork I highly doubt it's stolen.

If you paid a lot less than retail, it could be a gift, prize from some contest or stolen. So if it's important to you call the carrier and ask if it was reported stolen or lost. They will ask for information under the phone's battery.

My question to you is, even if you bought it from random "kid", and it turns out it was indeed stolen, and the owner wants it back, what will you do?

Yup, if you want to use it, but are scared its stolen you best ring and check. Otherwize you could be in a whole world more trouble. "Receiving stolen goods" comes to mind...

You aren't going to get in trouble if it's stolen so don't worry about it. Just call and ask. If it is stolen, offer to return it to the owner and you're done.
