I don't get why everyone around here is having to get their BB replaced. Why are some people getting multiple defective devices? My family has 6 BB's and we've only had to have one of them replaced because of a defect. Am I blessed or something like that?
You might just be lucky. Like you, I haven't seen any type of defects that would cause me to get my launch day storm replaced. Like anything, no two devices will ever be identically the same. Because of this, there can be many factors that can contribute towards the way the device performs. Also many of the replacement devices are refurbished devices. The devices may be repaired by putting new parts in it but that doesn't mean that it might not fail again since those previous build factors are still there.

I've only had to replace one due to faulty wiring where the charger plugs in.
Other than that just the normal buggy stuff I've learned to live with like when all the sudden all your texts, emails, and call logs disappear. HATE THAT!!!
That sounds like your BB reclaiming memory. It's not a bug; it's a normal function of the operating system. Try cleaning up the device and ensuring that all applications are properly closed when you're done with them to help prevent that from happening.

My first vzw 8330 was only 3 weeks old and the trackball failed, the rep at the vzw store told me I needed a replacement phone. I didn't know much then, if I knew then what I know now, I would never have allowed that to happen.

Most of the people who exchange theirs more than once or twice are just clueless. They'll excahnge it cause a website doesn't load, or their shortcut to something stopped working, or they messed up an OS install, or their phone gets slow and unusable because they don't have a microsd card and put 10 songs into the phone's memory. Its usually the kind of stupid crap that makes you look at a person and wonder how they survived in this world for more that a week.

...or because they were sold a faulty device, or because they accidently broke it (s*** happens), or because RIM updates the chipset in the device model that they just bought a week later and now their stuck with a sub-par POS (8330e/8330m), or because their device was stolen, or because of hardware malfunctions, etc...

Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Also strange that some people sometimes get multiple BBs with the same issues, even if that issue is not very typical. I don't get that.
