1. WiFi is available on the 8320 model, and 8820 models, and 8120 modes. When you bought the 8310, it should have been fairly evident that it did not have WiFi, as there is nothing in the specs or on the box that hints that it does.
2. GPS: You need to be out of doors in a nice open area free from numerous large buildings for your FIRST GPS refresh. It can take up to ten minutes for the first time. Wait. Be patient. Most of the time, you won't get GPS in a many buildings.
ANYtime to load a new OS, it will several minutes for the first GPS refresh as it must download the GPS tables that tell the BB where the satellites are in your little piece of the heavens. You will encounter a longer GPS refresh also if you travel a long distance and open your GPS again--it must recapture where you are.
yes i realize it take several minutes to update the OS. Also i mentioned i didnt even know the berry had wifi capabilities when i bought it( I did mention this was my first berry and only bought it cause i could hear the damn thing ring as opposed to the iphone which u couldnt hear even if u had a hearing aid in). wish i had i would have purchased from as separate dealer and just had it activated on my service.
I guess ill need to go outdoors and see iof the gps works since i live in the mountains and there isnt any tall building near me...lol my closets neighbor is a 5 minute drive down the road...
as far as the new OS:
<3 the new mail
<3 the newer browser
dont like the fact the speaker is a bit quieter
sped the phone up a bit when switching apps
<3 the video options now also

One thing I did notice was that when I went to delete an email message from my Gmail account, it used to prompt to delete from mailbox & handheld or handheld only or cancel. Now it doesn't do that.

Anyone else notice the bluetooth audio is choppy. It seems to cut in and out a couple of times a song for me. 4.5 on 8100.. Also, aol instant messenger won't allow me to log in.
Well... I finally went back to 4.2 I love the 4.5 but the biggest problem for me is that I would not get my e-mails or my BB messages and didn't find out until I clicked a BBM contact and it said data service was unavailable. I would have to constantly pull the battery and it got annoying. Hope the final release comes out soon with these bugs fixed! BTW, my playlists are still saved in the Music section of Media. I can't add new ones or add anymore songs to them but it lists playlists and they are still there.. hmm.
Makes me wonder if there is some other manual way to create playlists with 4.2... anyone know?

Nah I didn't. Figure I'll just wait it out now. I've experienced the greatness of 4.5 so that sense of urgency is gone and I can now contain my patience for the final release
It's extremely simple. Just go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Find Blackberry OS4.5 bla bla and remove it. Then download the 4.2 version either from AT&T's website or the thread in the 83xx forum on here. Install the 4.2 OS and then start up Desktop Manager. It will tell you that there is an older version installed on your PC than your handheld and ask if you want to downgrade to the older OS, click the button beside downgrade or w/e and viola!
I have removed mine too. I saw what I wanted. The video on the 8300. I will wait for the final version. The email was making me nuts. I hate html code.
