After you select what components you want to install, the next screen asks you if you would like to backup and restore your data automatically. There is a check box if you want to backup your messages also. Is it possible that you told it not to backup?

After you install the OS in windows, connect you bb. In BM, select Add/Remove Applications, and you should see a popup telling you that an upgrade is available. If you don't see it, try rebooting your computer. Make sure that you have the latest DM.

ok so im loving the new os but i think im going to downgrade. this memory leak is crazy! i uninstalled ptt, doc2go, sample video, languages, games, and had about 23blah blah free. so everything was fine.
today it is saying 15something and I havent even added anything new, no videos nothing! and it keeps going up and down. but now my bb is running slow becuse of the memory and I dont want to start losing emails. I also cant send MMS or see youtube vids. I can get mms though, and my BBM icon is invisible.
I just did the upgrade, everything is working flawless, i have video recording and youtube over wifi. I haven't tryed the voice recording yet. Long Upgrade tho took an hour to install.

From now on, if you sent me a request for the download links, you would receive a reply like this:

Or just directly sent a request to "some email address" As you can see with this, I do not need any more helpers, but I want to thanks those people who willing to help, and I really appreciate it!
Also, how do I downgrade If the thing kills my curve?
simple, uninstall 4.5 from you desktop, reboot and reinstall 4.2 back on to your puter, delete vendor.xml and all the vendorid files for the themes.
open desktop manager and click app loader and it will ask u if your sure u want to downgrade and viola.
i've downgraded mine back to 4.2, 4.5 ran fine for a few days but then start randomly rebooting. i depend on my berry to much for it to be unstable so i'll just wait.
And as stated in the auto-reply; if you have any problems just meain me at [email protected] or PIN me at 20650E97.
I was amazed at what I got in the auto-responder; as it was early-days I monitered it for a few hours earlier and within an hour or 2 we had around 60 requests - I can't wait to check it in the morning!
