With that new OS (4.5), do you even need BBSmart? I thought it had a built in HTML viewer, no?

ok, on the 4.2 os I was able to plug my curve to the usb port in my car and play the mp3 files on my media card. With 4.5 beta my stereo says no device found. I really hope they fix this before the final release.
I am not able to play videos form m.youtube or logon to aim. Small issues i can live with.
Also i have notice there is a huge memory leak. one more thing, when i unlock my phone there is a delay.. I would love any feed back .
But I love the L theme and the new browser new calander layout and the flashlight ( go video mode and turn the light on...lol) helped me find my bluetooth in a dark room.
I say do a backup, wipe the device, then install 4.5. DON'T do a restore, test the device with EDGE and WiFi on, and see what gives...
After a few hours, do a restore of your data and other applications...

What are your thoughts on the subject? I'm not understanding how everyone else seems to have a functional BB on 4.5, but mine is giving this problem. I'm on T-Mobile and i have a 8320 Titanium. I used the DM v4.3 to update the OS. I've even done a complete wipe and removed all 3rd party software so it's at a bare minimum.
hey could someone send me the link for the beta os... also if i have any problems with it how would i be able to switch back to the 4.2, is it as simple as a restore?

Hopefully, the final version will have it. My Empower Pro will not work with the beta version. I remember a link from John Clark or Bla1ze that mentioned something about it.
i downloaded the os and installed it on my comp... i backed up my blackberry... uninstalled the os 4.2 off my pc.. and resterted... i connect the bb to the desktop manager and it doesnt say it found an upgrade... how do i install it to the phone>>
Removing the OS 4.2 is not necessary. However, deleting the vendor.xml IS necessary. It's located in c:\Program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Ok, so here's what I'm doing.
1. Keep 4.5 installed on the Curve (I didn't do a restore. It was a fresh install).
2. Do a complete wipe (I already have a backup from a previous install)
3. Turn on Wifi
4. See if there are any issues
5. Turn on Edge
6. See if there are any issues
Is that what you're saying? btw, thanks for the help
John Clark, glad to see you. I'm a regular on the other forum. Maybe you can help me with my 8320 issue. Have you come across a 4.5 OS install causing the screen to blank out every few seconds? I've narrowed it down to the radio and wifi connections. If I enable either one, it blanks and gives the red light and then turns on. After about 3 times, it just reboots.
