I'm trying to add my friend, but it always stays pending (waiting for authorization). But whenever he updates his profile picture or PM, I can see it on recent updates.

What does this mean?

And sometimes on the "Pending" tab below the BBM Groups, I can see his contact is still pending (waiting for authorization), but when I click it, the status says busy but with question mark golden box.

Any help would be appreciated

Did that lots of times. And it still comes with same result. :S
This doesn't happen to any other contact I've tried to add though.

But does this mean he doesn't approve my invitation? But as far as I know, I can't see updates on contacts who don't approve invitations.

Pending means he hasn't approved your add request. You can't bbm him, right?

Status visibility despite lack of approval might be a flaw.

contact him and ask him to approve your request.

It simply means that he has not approved your request. There's nothing wrong with the device or the app. It just means that your friendship is on the rocks...

Well as a matter of fact, I can BBM him. When I see the status update, I click on his and the chat is open. :S
