I prefer my Bold... I suppose if I had to "downgrade", I'd get a Curve. IMO, Pearls are a bit "girlie" for lack of a better word. No offense to those who have Pearls.
I've had both. If it's mainly for phone and txt/IM go with the Pearl. Typing is faster, keys are bigger, and it's smaller. If it's more for pix and browsing go Curve (preferably 8900 with the superscreen) because the screen is bigger. Music is fine with either as long as it takes regular headphones. Video is way nicer on the Curve of course.
I have a Pearl and I like it well enough; however I'm thinking next time I'm due for an upgrade I'll go with the latest and greatest full QWERTY keyboard device.

No offense taken. Some of us like things that are "girlie."
I'd say the Curve. I had a pearl before the curve and having a qwerty keyboard is nice. The Curve is only slightly larger so it's not bulky. Getcha Curve on

You could get a Storm and have the best of both worlds, PLUS the biggest screen in RIM history. I always dismissed Pearls because I thought I could never get used to suretype, BUT I find it quite handy on my Storm.
i have a curve right now.. i love it but i do miss the size of my previous pearls. it took a bit for me to get used to the full qwerty of the curve. the sure type of the pearl was pretty cool.
Curve is quite easy to adapt to, Qwerty is nice, I can't holld onto the Pearl, I've dropped my wife's many times more often than my Curve. Just too slick for my taste, same for the WE.
I have a nice silicone case on mine with checkering on the sides that give me a firm, comfortable grip and protects my 8330 from some pretty radical bumps. The external buttons have raised rubber pads for easier pushing, works very nicely.

Curve....Get a 8900 its jus 150$ wid the rebate on tmobile.com ...has wifi and the screen bigger/wide is better than anything ud ever see on a cell phone!!!
i have a curve-altho i do like the slimness of the pearl(and it comes in pink too!)....and suretype doesnt seem that bad to type on....ive tried it on the storm in a vzw store. but its all to what you'l like better. my curve has been very good to me! reliable.
I had both -- pearl and curve. I liked the feel of the pearl keys -- the curve has small keys. I love the curve's full keyboard and wider screen. I choose the curve over the pearl but I would take the bold anyday!!!
