This would be so much more meaningful had it also been done in
less metropolitan areas and over more than a single day.

As it stands, it demonstrates nothing of any importance.

Pretty impressive read i must say, they did 5443 individual tests from 283 testing locations in 13 cities. Verizon scoring pretty high with 89.8% dependability AT&T with 68% and not surprising Sprint claiming there the most dependable 3G network scored 90.5 %.

From personal testing in Ontario, Bell Wins the Canadian Version, as I carry 2 of their phones because no other company can give me connectivity in as many places.

but NO they have not done another version

Thank you. I've been saying that for a long time, especially after Consumer Reports did something similar. Not knocking Verizon as I know they have a good overall network, but my experience has been better with AT&T.

    YMMV.

I agree... I've traveled through the east coast (of that list, didn't hit Boston) and AT&T was better than both Sprint and Verizon with 3G downloads. This is my experience though. In ATL, I was golden. My Sprint phone... well it was able to make it 14+ hours without needing a charge -- turned it off because it was on digital roaming forever. Friend's verizon phone, not sure what the symbol was, but it seemed like they needed to use my phone most of the time. With AT&T, there was probably one dropped call (aside from tunnels) and EDGE in non metropolitan areas.

Somewhat surprisingly, our testers also found that the "bars of service" readings on their phones were rarely an accurate predictor of the quality of the ensuing connection. In most places and with most wireless providers, the "bars" did little more than indicate whether the phone had access to some service or to no service.
So much for AT&T's "more bars in more places" slogan.

Agreed. Verizon users will bask in glory over this one though lol.
