    This is an issue at my place of employement.

    "My Blackberry is showing my password in clear text. After receiving a prompt to "type "blackberry" to continue" my password shows up in clear text, not *."

    Any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix it?

    Are you talking about after you've already entered the password wrong 5 times and you HAVE TO type "blackberry" to continue? I believe it switches to plain text because you've already done it wrong 5 times and assumes you might have no idea what you're typing.

    As long as you get it right in the first few tries it shouldn't be an issue...

    I am pretty sure that the "*" doesn't show at all. The lady said the text appears to be inputting, but there are no "*" just blank spaces. She had done a security update while syncing to the computer and is not sure if that affected it.

    I will see if I can get ahold of her and see what is actually going on with the berry. It is hard to determine the issue from an email!

    Hmmm...well that's probably not right, it should show the "*".

    I do know that after 5 incorrect attempts it will switch over to plain text, however.
