By now most of us have known the 'passport', the awesome, unique and innovative new qwerty device from BBRY. But some a bit sceptical of it huge size though I would say majority really looking foward to its launch come September ths year.
And I think it would be nice, (bar manufacturing cost, etc) if BBRY could introduce a smaller version of passport... maybe with 3.5in screen size that surely more handy and easy to use with one hand. I am not an artist to prepare a concept model of this passport mini (those expert may help us on this), but it will be great to add the BB10 product line.
    What do you think?

Nah.. that's why we have the Q10 and classic. Sort of defeats the purpose and brings another device for them to support if they do that.

That would basically be the traditional QWERTY BlackBerry form factor lol

There's one major reason why the Passport is as large as it is.

The screen first needs to be wide enough to present a decent 16:9 image for video and photos. Not such a big deal; the Q5 and Q10 do that quite nicely. What's different with the Passport is that they also want it to be able to do a VERTICAL 16:9 so that a full Android app can be displayed without scrolling. Maybe the biggest issue with the current Qs is that some Android apps wind up with controls that fall outside the square window and it can render the device useless.

If you tried to render a vertical 16:9 app on such a small screen it would be very difficult to read/use.

"Classic" better be called "Bold Q20" or "Bold 10" Keep Bold Alive, would Apple Kill iPhone? ?

The Classic is more or less the Q10 replacement anyway.

So far as that goes, I wonder if BlackBerry is actually retaining the Z/Q naming convention...

No, I think it would have to be called the BlackBerry PostItNote. Smaller than a Passport, and on every desk!

Great point and very true.. sometimes Android apps cannot be navigated because certain controls fall outside the window... that's a bit of a bummer!

Wow. That is a terrible user experience. That's probably why Blackberry doesn't advertise Android compatibility. Most people would return a device that did this on a regular basis.

The classic is nothing like the passport. A passport mini would have no toolbelt, but it would have the passport touch sensitive keyboard.

Sounds like a good idea, ad some said this would make a good q10 replacement

No the Q10's replacement is the Passport, the Classic is obviously the next Bold.

So, the Passport can display 16:9 vertically and horizontally in at least 720p?

What do they have to do with each other? If I want a iPhone I buy a iPhone if I want a BlackBerry I buy a BlackBerry.

They just don't need to over produce like they did with the Z10, the Z3 is doing just fine.

I see a 4 inch passport with a Bold keyboard as a Q10 successor. Passport styling but cheaper.
