Here's my story. I had a blackberry 9900 bold, I loved it accept my battery only lasted 6 hours max. I had to get rid of it because of this! It was no use to me with the rubbish battery life and I wasn't prepared to buy a spare battery. I had all the appropriate settings applied to extend battery life ie. closing all apps, screen brightness right down etc.
I then (sadly) got an iPhone 4S and the battery life is great! But I'm really missing my blackberry for things such as emails, twitter, THE KEYBOARD! So I'm looking to go back, since I got an iPad so I don't miss out on iOS apps

So my question to you is, which OS 7 device has the best battery life it of them all? That's all I'm really bothered about because I want it t last a full day if not more! Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Right now, I'm getting an average of 18 hours out of my 9930. When I first got it, I had a defective battery and never got more than 4-6 hours out of a charge. After the new battery, I started averaging 12 hours/per charge.

Now, with 7.1, I'm pulling the 9930 off the charger at 7 AM, and replacing it on the charger around midnight with 40% battery life left. I use the Bold pretty heavily - lots of emails (I average 8-10/hr min), some Facebook, lots of browsing, UberTwitter, and an every 15 minute push of my calendar updates to a cloud service.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty darn happy with that.

I'm the proud user of a 9810, the standby time of 6 hours was my best at first.
the thing I found out was the "switch to other device" with the desktop was the problem.
I think that app's from former OS will be transferd to the new bb. the new bb wil try its compatebility program to make the app's to work. I started with a clean sheet (downloading from the protect server) with app's that wil work on the new bb.
I go trough the day (without the 3G) with ease on heavy use. the browser with the 3G drains the power.

    cheers from Holland

The Torch models 9810/9860 on 7.1 will get you the best
    battery life.
I can go the whole day no problem I don't make many calls
but I'm a heavy BBM user.

Pretty sure just because of how simple they are the OS 7 Curve's will have the best battery life. No touchscreen to drain it.

But the 9860 is a fantastic piece. I don't use my phone as heavily as others do but, I last almost two days with mine. Mostly text messages, BBM's, emails, Facebook and surfing.

I am running 9900/7.1.0.284 (B998) and was on my phone all day yesterday because I put an offer in on a condo. So between talking to the broker my parents and some friends on the phone. Boat load of emails and texts and a lot of web browsing for current rates anr surrounding properties along with opening large attachments from my email I came home with 25% battery life.
Didn't touch the charger and was off the charger from 9am to 1230am

    That's good enough for me.

I also have a spare battery and charger just incase I do go overboard or am not near a charger for the night which gives you an unbelievable peace of mind over the 4s. We can have extra batteries. Lol

6 hours in the 9900 is a thing of the past, unless you have things like Google Maps, IM+ or any other battery hog on all the time. You could also be in a really bad location for connectivity, but that doesn't seem to be the case since you are using the stupid iphone (sorry, I call it like that). =P

The phone should last at least 12 hours with regular battery use, and without bridging or using bluetooth at all, probably even 16 hours.

I got my 9900 bridged all day, and I use a BT headset to listen to some music (20-40 minutes/day). I can get 12 hours of use.

Check your app list and give it a try.

It would appear as though it would have, but it doesn't an its the main complaint
of the new curve which has a 1000 MAh battery.
The Bold uses a 1230mah which is optimized to the fullest now with 7.1
the 6hr battery life is def a thing of the past.
    The Torch uses 1270mah

In my opinion I think the Bold 9790 has the best battery life int he os 7 line. I personally use a Torch 9860 and my battery life is 7am to 5pm with 20-30% left.

Definetly not the 9850, from 9:00 am - 3pm my phone will be on its last leg of life. I sometime listen to music, but mostly text and browse.

Have you updated to os 7.1? Same battery on my 9900 and I can stream pandora from 9 to 3 and still have 20-30% battery left.
