Ice cream sandwich. My teeth hurt today.

Back on topic, I followed the op's link. There were several responses of people trying to help out. Suggesting battery pulls etc. Not one person told the poster that os6 will not run on a 8520. Kinda a sad situation.

Did you install os6 on it?
Seriously though. Has anybody tried to install os6 on a 8520? Will apploader even attempt it? I'm working on an iphone i reckon when I get the chance I might try to install it on my 8520. I installed os6 on my 9700. I'm curious to what will happen if tried.

I don't think App Loader would allow it. Even if you could, it wouldn't run well at all. The CPU is too slow, and there is not enough RAM.

I was seriously told by a sprint rep in an argument on the phone that he could tell me how to load os7 on my 9650. I told him it was not possible and he said yes it is. You offset the lack of processor speed with a larger memory cars and its possible. He told me he did it on his 8530.

I called him out on it and said "you have my address on screen. Sent your phone to me and if it has os7 on it I will give you $10,000. He then hung up on me. That's professional. Haha

Needless to say That was one of my last encounters with sprint 2 months ago.

    This says it all.
Another myth: is GPS there on 8520. It shows up in the Options>Advance Options though. It even once showed my location with some figures in latitudes and longitudes.

    "BlackBerry Maps and GPS
Know where you're going with maps, directions to local businesses and turn-by-turn routes. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone comes with BlackBerry Maps built in, and the BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone features BlackBerry Maps and GPS capabilities."
pulled right from BB's website. so the 8530 has Maps and GPS while the 8520 only has maps

I have installed a OS 7.1/OS 6 hybrid on my 9650 and it did showed up 7.1 on the help me screen. But that was a hybrid, the actual base OS is the .719
