So i'm stuck with RIM's forgotten phone until i accumulate $150 to upgrade to the Tour. Until that time, I wanted to upgrade to the new hybrid OS for the 8830 but have a mac. Does anyone know if i go to a public computer at my schools library, download DM to that, and then upgrade there, will that work? Thanks for the help!
You can save some time if your download BlackBerry Desktop Manager and your device OS on your Macintosh. Copy them to a removable thumb drive or to your Media Card.
Connect to the Windows PC and install from the removable drive.
It will take less then an hour this way, a couple hours if you download in place.
