    Verizon's OS for the 8830 went from 4.2.2.176 to 4.2.2.196. The change added support for 8GB microSD cards, among other minor updates. If your explanation is correct, I would have thought the 3rd number would have changed. Unless the capability was always there, and they didn't have to write any new code to enable it.
