I'm looking to upgrade my Blackberry 8110 OS from version 4.3x to version 4.5 or later. From my understanding the 8110 can support the newer OS. I downloaded the lastest Desktop Manager Zip.exe file; version 4.6. I was wondering does that have the OS/firmware for the device included? Has anyone tried an OS uprade? If yes, would mind sharing your experience?

    Thanks

Desktop Manager does not include the OS/Device firmware.
Given that you did not know that, and I mean no offense, maybe
you should spend some time (A) getting to know how your phone
works and (B) reading some of the things geared for new users,
starting with the 101 Lecture in my signature.

Upgrading isn't overly hard but you do need to understand a
few things so that if problems arise you will better be able
    to fix them.

I jumped in a little to quick and upgraded my 8110 to 4.5.0.37. I learned a lot, but I personally think it is better to wait for your service provider to provide the upgrade. I have bugs in 4.5x w/ the 8110. I am going to live with them until AT&T comes out with their official 4.5x because I don't want to end up with more of a mess.

AT&T will put their upgrade to 4.5x on the blackberry.com website. I'm sure you will see links when it is availible. Everyone is waiting for it.
