    All

Was reading another thread on the GPS so I went to advanced options - GPS - I now see something I never saw before. It says it can lock onto my Nuvi 660!
I am going to try this tomorrow. I never saw this option before. I guess it uses the Nuvi as the puck??? Anyone else see this?

I don't have a Nuvi, but after I paired my 8830 with my daughter's phone (not a blackberry) to exchange pictures via bluetooth, her phone showed up on my GPS device drop-down list, along with my Freedom Keychain 2000. I have not tried to use it, so I don't know if it would work.

Are you both talking about the source being listed under "GPS Data Source"? If so, that's always been there with OS 4.2. Any bluetooth device that has been previously paired with your BlackBerry will be listed under "GPS Data Source" even if the device doesn't have GPS capabilities.

Yea, that's true, I pair my 8830 with my Macbook over bluetooth, and my computer shows up as an available GPS source even thought it doesn't have it. Of course, I'm still running 4.2

It just so happened the only devices I had paired did have GPS capability, so I missed that distinction. I am running 4.2.2.176 build 3.0.0.79. So it's not new to OS 4.5.

Are you also saying you have OS 4.5 on an 8830? If so, how did you get that OS onto your 8830?

I'm running OS 4.2.2.196, which is the latest version officially released by Verizon. You can get 4.5 for the 8830 from Bell as well as from beta sources.
