Hello, I got a question about Opera Mini 5 beta 2 and using it while on Wifi:

I am usually always in a 3G coverage area and my Opera browser works great, but there are times when I am in my home and have access to my Wifi network.

Is there anything I have to change in the settings of Opera Mini to allow the browser to run off of my Wifi instead of my 3G?

I can never seem to get it right, I just want to "test" the true speed of my Wifi compared to 3G.

Also, while I'm at it, do I have to change anything if I wanted to use the default browser on Wifi instead of 3G? I've tried selecting "Hotspot Browser' in browser>options but it always switches back automatically to "Internet Browser". Thanks

I thought you just wanted to test it for speed. I don't think you can give a preference for wifi or 3G etc like you can with some other apps, mostly because Opera isn't optimized for BB.

I was messing around with it last night, and the socket setting in Opera works with wifi (I turned off 3g). Supposedly it's faster than html.

Socket is for Wifi and HTTP is for 3G. If I have socket selected and not on Wifi, the browser will not work. Go to settings, advanced to change settings.
