I was having problems accessing my banks mobile banking website on my 8300 and i was told to switch the default browser from Media Net to Internet Browser, it worked but does this change have an effect on anything else while on the web or the security of my phone while on the web? Should i just change the default when i want to go on that particular site and then switch back to Media Net when i want to browse other things or is it ok to leave the default on Internet Browser.Thanks
Just leave the default on BB browser. But be careful about banking sites on either one. You should use Opera Mini

If I understand your original question correctly, you were asking about your Browsers default view.
The mobile version is optimized for mobile content sites. The advantage being fast response and a simple screen interface.
The desktop view is a full http browser, just like the one on your desktop. The browser is able to use the full set of security features to make your banking a safe and secure experience.
It does not matter which you set as the default, the other view is avaliable from the option button.
I don't know about that - part of the reason that Opera Mini is so fast is because it caches the site you go to on their servers...
operamini is much better than the blackberry browser.. i wish someone else comes out with a better one!
Either way you look at it, accessing your ONline Banking via Mobile is very dangerous. How do I know? Look at my title below.
Every week we have at least 3 new cases of compromised Online Banking Logins. When you use a Cell Phone to access online banking through your web browser, you are susceptible to anyone intercepting your signal and obtain your login information.
If your bank offers "Mobile Banking", that's different. That is an application you directly download to your phone, and connects with only the Banks servers to make it a million times more secure.
If you MUST access your Online Banking, I would use the default browser. As Cyba.Cowboy mentioned above, Opera Mini is fast only because of the way it caches.
