That's not a simple question. If you are on BES, you should ask your IT dept before you attempt the upgrade. I've upgraded / downgraded / upgraded using 4.2.2.176 to 4.2.2.196, back to 4.2.2.176, and last night, back to 4.2.2.196. The first time I upgraded, I had to get the IT admins to activate me again. That was no problem. When I upgraded last night, I did NOT have to get IT to activate me; the phone activated on the BES when I turned the radio back on and completed the activation. I called IT this morning, and he is as puzzled as me as to why I didn't have to reactivate. But I didn't. Before today, I would have told you unequivocally yes, you will have to get IT support to reactivate you on the BES.
