I was wondering if the two blackberries that i consider to be the best (8900 and 9700) are still for sale with any carriers (or directly from RIM) anywhere around the world?

I know that the 9700 is still for sale with NTT DoCoMo in japan, but considering the lack of GSM/GPRS/EDGE in Japan, was curious as to if it would work on such networks elsewhere in the world? NTT doesn't sell the 8900 because of it's lack of 3G...

    Any info? thanks

By the way, will a 9630 or 9650 screen fit the 8900?

Also, what are your favorite older blackberries and why? i know i really love the distinctive slanted curve that we used to have on the 8900/96x0/9700, and i love OS 5.

Your best bet would be eBay or the CB Marketplace.

Also, if you have any Wireless Toyz stores around your area, I'd give them a try. Just make sure to tell them what phone company you need the phone to work for and they will hopefully be able to help you out.

I will always love my first BB - an 8300. Such a wonderful phone....and it could take a beating! It was my first smartphone so I just went head over heels with all it could do that my dumbphone couldn't.

My favs would be 9000/9700/9780 definitely quality builds. 9900 too if it wasn't for the bricks/nuke software.

Simple Mobile has the Bold 9700. I have never used them, but I heard they use the T-Mobile network. They are prepaid, but I don't think that should cause any issues.
