not to long ago i had an 8330 and loved it. but downgraded because i was stupid. i am wanting another BB, i really liked the 8330 but it is no longer available from VZW, so i am thinking of getting one used. but VZW also had the tour 9630, curve 8530 ( looked at it today, not 100$ sold on it, i though the old 8330 seemed more solid of a phone ) and the 9650 bold CPO. i dont need the PTT or the worldwide features of the bold. but i like the feel of the phone, reminds me of my old 8330. ugh, i cant decide. how about some pros/cons of my dilemma.

I had an 8330 for almost two years, and purchased the Bold a couple weeks ago. A friend of mine had the new Curve, but I didn't like the feel of it. I love the Bold. Takes some time to get used to the Trackpad, but I'm getting better with it. I also don't need the world and PPT features, but I am glad I got the Bold.

Verizon hasnt released it but check it out at the link below. I would say spend the extra money for the Bold 9650

I agree with Honda, get the Bold. It will run the new OS. You might feel left behind if you don't.

I'd go Bold in a heartbeat over the new Curve, in all honesty. I really liked the 8330's keyboard, but have adapted to the feel of Tour, and I don't much care for the revamped separated keyboards. The keys are just a tad small for my taste.

The new Curve is nicer (opinion) than the last version, seeming to blend the new device with a lil' retro feel. Looks a lot like the 8900, but without the flash, screen res, or camera.

My opinion echoes BK's and pretty much the others here too.

I had an 8330 for year, a love/hate Tour from the bad first batch, and now a wonderful Bold 9700.

Spend the money on the Bold 9650. You get:
huge amount of memory: double my 9700!
about 2.5 times the screen resolution of 8330/8530/9330: 480x360 is ~175,000 pixels while 320x240 is ~75,000p)
a better design than new Curves IMO: I hate that top row buttons is are clickable, flat parts of the screen cover instead of actual raised buttons
    auto-focus camera
    Trackpad & WiFi: 8330 & Tour both have neither, but 9650 does along with 8530 & 9330
    Plus chixdiggit!

I could never go back to that lower-res screen to be honest. For me that the dealbreaker everything else is just gravy!
    (Mmmm gravy)

I'm gunna agree with elite to the fullest on this one, a great breakdown. One thing he may have forgot is 3G capability... I ran edge on my 8900 which I thought was fine, but once u get 3G speeds, you'll be happy you made the upgrade. Good luck mate

Me too. But that's not saying much since I started with a Tour and replaced it with a Bold.

But I do love the Bold. Can't see switching unless a real WOW BB comes out for VZW......

if its anything like the holster my 8330 came with, its in the trash before i turn the BB on for the first time. but the cradle charger it the best thing for BB IMO
