The problem is that each time one of these threads is created, political posts appear whether we like it or not. Which is a good reason why each time these threads are created, they ought to be directed to the off-topic portion of the forums.
We have a very big current events story that transends politics. President elect Obama's endorsement of BlackBerry is the story.

Now that President Obama is in office, the story continues and we are fully behind a non-political discussion of the events.

Thanks for your understanding and let's enjoy watching the story unfold.

With all due respect Reed, I need to remind you again that while we are behind a NON-POLITICAL discussion when it comes to this, it will get POLITICAL whether we like it or not.

With all due respect to moderator workload, there are ways to ensure it does not remain political for long

Lol but if that's what he wanted why not ditch the whole idea of a secure a tised bb and stick to normal, perfectly working ones (excluding storm for obvious reasons)

a 88XX? Common that device is slowly being obsolete. Is the white house too cheap to buy out his Verizon contract and get him a Bold or Curve 8900 from AT&T/T-Mobile? Heck, I bet RIM is willing to ship hundreds of Bold/8900 for Obama administration and his family for free for all these free advertisement they've been getting!

My other question is, now they have developed this highly secure Blackberry software, does that mean other government officials with Sectera Edge devices will "slowly" migrate to these new secure Blackberrys

Most likely, because it's the only modern BlackBerry without a camera.

Michelle and the kids can have their pick, the secure layer will install on the their Pearls and Storms.

Actually I did make a post and it got deleted because this post it not about the president and how I feel about him and his issues this about him and his blackberry.

Ambz (you know I love you), your post was deleted because you injected politics into a thread that wasn't about politics.

Regardless of how anyone may feel about the President (me included) please restrain from the typical kneejerk need to rail against that which you are diametrically opposed.

In other words, discuss the topic of the thread or go away
And the topic is the ACTUAL PHONE, not the politics of it's user.

so, uh, not to be picky, but would you like to trust security of your communications devices to a company whose main function is providing secure communication software, but,

CANT SPELL COMMUNICATION ON THEIR HOME PAGE?! COME'ON NOW!

    "SecurVoice is Secure Comunications"

Or is this just CODE for comunications. perhaps their encryption technology is based on removing the fourth letter of every word!!

Or maybe GWB is their spell check specialist!

    INGENIOUS!
Or maybe, like most companies, their website is designed and administrated by an outside firm while they focus on their core business...

You can get pretty much all of the new model BBs without a camera. The options are there on my order page.

I believe it has more to do with sticking to what it was certified with...
