Here is a link to a story about Obama's new BB. Guess he hasn't got it yet.

EXCLUSIVE: Obama to soon get secure BlackBerry - Washington Times

He has a BlackBerry, just not the Uber secure one he will be getting:

The president was forced to give up his unsecured BlackBerry after Inauguration Day, amid concerns that its communications and e-mail would be intercepted by foreign governments or hackers.

In the interim, Mr. Obama has been using a patchwork of two devices, a BlackBerry and an NSA-supplied secure handheld device known as Sectera Edge. The General Dynamics-made Sectera must be plugged into the presidential BlackBerry, making it use more cumbersome than a secure BlackBerry

Yea he has one now but it has to be tethered to another device. The new one will be stand alone(which he hasn't received).

And there I was thinking that a MilSpec BlackBerry would look like a Bold in an Otterbox...

Looks like a rip off of a first gen Treo - intrigued by the classified USB port. And that it has a serial interface!!!

so, uh, not to be picky, but would you like to trust security of your communications devices to a company whose main function is providing secure communication software, but,

CANT SPELL COMMUNICATION ON THEIR HOME PAGE?! COME'ON NOW!

    "SecurVoice is Secure Comunications"

Or is this just CODE for comunications. perhaps their encryption technology is based on removing the fourth letter of every word!!

Or maybe GWB is their spell check specialist!

    INGENIOUS!

The software that allows users access to data up to the Top Secret classification level was developed by Genesis Key with the help of engineers from the Toronto-based Research In Motion, which makes BlackBerry.
Looks like the washington times didn't really do their research there....

Agreed: Everyone says he's getting a Blackberry, and it isn't one at all. I wonder how many sales and this sudden uprising in blackberry use in the last 6 months has anything to do with him getting a "blackberry".

The problem is that each time one of these threads is created, political posts appear whether we like it or not. Which is a good reason why each time these threads are created, they ought to be directed to the off-topic portion of the forums.

I hope their code isnt as sloppy!

"what comes after A? C? Uh..screw it, we'll just leave that part out"

Perhaps its one of George Bush's "evil doers", and just part of his "STRATEGERY" LOL...

I thought Obama was supposed to keep his blackberry and they secured it. That was the original reports. first he was not supposed to have it, then he obviously said..Im president and if i cant get on Crackberry's wap site, then forget it!
