It still works, though.

I had an 8700c that I thought died. Dropped it and it wouldn't turn back on, no matter what I tried. I could still sync the data, though, which was odd. Eventually, I took the battery out (again) and just set it aside for a couple of weeks. After my Curve arrived, I decided to try it one more time. It booted up like nothing had happened.

Anyway, all that to say, I'm almost certain it's impossible to kill the 8700c. ^_^
