My NFC stopped working on my Z10 about 10 days ago. I use NFC often and tested 3 Z10's that my family have, all failed to work.

I contacted Rogers and I inquired about a new sim enabled card with NFC and their response was that the new sim card is for banking apps etc.

I've backed up my phone but before I return my device back to factory settings I thought I'd check in with you folks.

Rogers z10 NFC working fine. Just tested. No special sim.

One day my Z10 Nfc stopped working too. The option was grayed. I don't even have a SIM in it since I use the Z30.
Had to wipe the phone and ended up installing 2141. Everything is back to normal

Dumb question but did you try a reset?

By reset do you mean wipe the phone and start fresh? If so then no.

I seem to be having a similar problem. NFC worked as recently as last Friday at Tim Hortons and it seems to have stopped as of 2 days ago.

I've tested it at a different terminal, done a couple of hard resets, reinstalled the app, checked permissions, taken the case off, popped the backplate off and reseated it, everything I can think of. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Same problem with my BlackBerry Q10. NFC option is disabled here.

I doubt it will work, but maybe the connections on the back cover are not clear or clean? That's probably not the issue, but worth a look.

For me, nfc started working again after getting the update to 10.2.1.2141. It's kind of strange, but it works perfectly again.
